Orthodox Wedding Venice | Reception H Farm La Serra Restaurant | Diana and Leonardo
Diana and Leonardo got married on a very hot day in July, and they chose the beautiful Church of San Giorgio Dei Greci in Venice to celebrate their Orthodox ceremony! Leonardo’s dressing took place in the beautiful Hotel Savoia & Jolanda, an hotel located in Riva Degli Schiavoni, very central and with a wonderful view of the Venice lagoon and the Island of San Giorgio. Diana, on the other hand, got ready with her family and her best friend who did her make – up at the Hotel Liassidi Palace, a very comfortable hotel close to the location of the ceremony. I must say that the Orthodox ceremony is very emotional, it was explained to me very well by the father of the Church of San Giorgio Dei Greci, and I must say that it has different traits from our Catholic ceremony, very beautiful and profound, truly very fascinating. In fact, the father blesses the rings that are placed on the hands and inserted only up to half of the finger of the spouses, then the witnesses exchange them. In the second part of the Orthodox ceremony there is the coronation phase, in this phase the priest joins the hands of the bride and groom, then blesses the crowns which are then placed on the heads of the bride and groom. Once the crowns have been exchanged by the witnesses, the priest with the spouses makes 3 rides around the altar, blesses the crowns and lifting them from the heads, while he has the book in his hand, separates the hands of the spouses and at that point declares them husband and wife. After the couple left the church, Leonardo and Diana wanted to take a short taxi ride for some portraits on the boat, they stopped to make their first toast as husband and wife under the Rialto Bridge and then joined the guests in the reception location, the H-Farm in Roncade (Treviso), an innovative campus where projects come to life. After the reception now at sunset in the beautiful greenery of H – Farm, the bride and groom then had the evening wedding reception by candlelight in the wonderful La Serra Restaurant, managed by the Alajmo family. Needless to say, details of their candlelight reception were wonderful! Diana loves candles and for sure her wish for the wedding come true ! A truly magical atmosphere! the evening then continued with the cutting of the cake by candlelight and wild dancing! best wishes dear Leonardo and Diana for your new life!
